Havanoscope 2021: The habano of the year is…
After having tried every single Cuban cigar available in France, L’Amateur de Cigare’s Tasting Committee has come to a decision.
The habano of the year is the Romeo y Julieta Churchills.
Here is the review published in the 2021 Havanoscope, now available (in French) in French newsstands and from our online store:

An emblematic Churchills from the Cuban catalog. Its appearance is as well-crafted as ever, with its uniform colorado wrapper and two bands, and the cold draw is also just as promising: licorice, mushroom, and cedar. An elegant start with coppery, woody, and burnt flavors in the first puffs: it’s already a complex and sophisticated smoke. The flavor profile gives this cigar an old–school feel, even if the progression is not unbridled. The final third is more demanding, as the flavors get darker (black pepper, licorice, dry peat, and burnt oak). A full-bodied and satisfying finish. A flawless performance for an old-fashioned cigar with great presence. And above all, what consistency from one cigar to the next! That’s the mark of a great cigar.
